Eiffel Tower with Seine River Cruise Tickets

Good afternoon all,

My husband and I want to buy Eiffel Tower with Seine River Cruise tickets. We were told to view Eiffel Tower at night, because it is so beautiful and take Seiver Cruise in the afternoon so we can see everything.

We plan to book the whole package at 7:15 pm on 06/05/2023, but the Trip Advisor website did not say whether we will go to see the Eiffel Tower first, or whether we will go to the cruise first.

I have several questions to ask all of you who had bought this tour package. Here are my questions:

  1. If the tour guy takes us to the summit of Eiffel Tower first at 7:15 pm, we will be done around 8;30 pm. After that the tour guy will take us to the river cruise around 8:45 pm, will we be able to see anything while we sit on the cruise, because the sky will be dark at that time.

  2. It seems to me this tour package only included the summit of Eifel Tower and he Seine cruise. It skips the 1st and 2nd floors of the tower. It's worth it to buy tickets include the 1st and 2nd floors. What can we see from these floors?

  3. Is it safe to purchase tickets thru Viator instead of Trip Advisor companies? We have not purchased any tickets from the Viator company before.

Thank you for your help.

Are you sure the tour includes the summit? Most Eiffel tower tours only go to the second floor. And you are quite confused about the Eiffel Tower. You cannot go to the summit without getting off on the second floor where you will then line up for the elevator to the top. I would not want to do the tower on a tour -- a tour adds nothing and I' like to be free to look around and do what I want to do. There is also zero reason to have a 'tour' that includes the Seine cruise which is something you can walk up and do any time.

Hi Sandy, there’s really not a right or wrong way to plan your time. I’ve done both the ET and Seine cruise during the day and in the evening. Any time is nice. As Janet mentioned, you can’t skip the second floor of the ET. You need to get off the elevator and take a separate elevator to the summit. Purchasing tickets from Viator is fine but grab them before they sell out. You don’t need a tour to do the ET or cruise but it may make you more comfortable to have someone take the lead. I’m sure your first trip to Paris will be magical!

Fyi, sunset on June 5 should be at 9:49 pm.

Just to add- don't worry about not being able to see anything on an after dark Seine cruise. It's my favorite time to go. With all the lights, it's absolutely magical. But a tour is completely unnecessary for either the ET or a cruise. Do it if that's the only way to get ET tickets for the time you want. And then cross your fingers that it won't be raining that evening.

Viator is good. We have both day trips and car service through them. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Sandy,
I know that seeing to Eiffel Tower is important to you. Since you were unable to buy timed tickets, take the Viator tour and enjoy. The lights on the Seine at dusk should be enchanting.

We went through Get your Guide and last week did the Tower part of the package. Meeting the guide at the office, which is a short 15 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower, you are escorted by him through double security then up to the the Second Floor tour, then on to the Summit (not guaranteed due to weather). It is worth the premium to have the guide! The sunset was about 21:00 last week!
