Eiffel Tower w/o advance ticket

Hoping some folks can share advice on this…

My husband and I will be in Paris in mid October on a Thurs and Fri. I procrastinated too long and now Eiffel Tower tickets are sold out for those days.

I see I can go day of and buy tickets there. Has anyone done this and can offer good advice on how best to time it? For instance I think they open at 9 - should we aim to be in line there by like 8:30 AM Friday? Shoot for different timing instead? Are on site tickets actually available or is this only really of advance ticket people do not show up?

The Eiffel Tower tickets are not sold out until 7 days before any given visit, which is when the last group of tickets is offered. You can keep trying or just show up, which might be better concerning all the rain that there has been in Paris. Chose to visit on a day without precipitation.

I'm going to be in Paris next week, and all tickets were sold out for the last month. Then within the last few days, tickets have become available. I agree with the above poster, wait until closer to your dates then look again.

The magic moment for getting tickets on line is 7 days out at 1 pm Paris time -- so be prepared to buy at that time. Good luck.

If you are willing to walk up to the second floor, the line for those tickets is usually short; you can add the elevator to the top when you buy the ticket to walk up.
