Okay so I am doing my homework and want to get Eiffel tower tickets to the top for a trip this June. I know it is high season. I know I have to buy them 60 days before. I also know they sell out fast. So right now I am scouting and trying to figure out when the button switches to be able to purchase (think Disney fast passes on meth). Everything says they go on sale at 8:30 am Paris time. That is not what I am experiencing. For example....the date of May 20th was set to go on sale today (March 21st). I set my alarm. I got up at 2am. Double checked my Iphone world clock and it was 8am in Paris. The tickets had already gone on sale and were sold out (except for 11pm reservation time). So what time do the tickets drop, because it isn't 8:30 am Paris time. I would rather not spend the next several nights setting alarms for awful times trying to figure this out! Please help! Again, I am trying to be ready for when my date drops so that I do set an alarm and try my best to snatch up some decent timed tickets. Thank you in advance.
They go on sale at midnight Paris time. For me in Texas for example, that's a very civilized 6pm purchase time, the day before - so 60 days + 1 for the time change difference since Paris is ahead by 6 hours central time.
The largest tranche of tickets goes on sale 7 days before at 1 pm Paris time. So if you miss getting tickets at the 60 day drop where fewer tickets are released, you have another good shot 7 days out -- which will be the middle of the night in the US.
This is so helpful - thank you both so much!
France goes onto daylight saving time Sun, Mar 31, 2024. Right now, Eastern daylight time, France is five hours ahead. However, on Sunday, March 31, they will be six hours ahead. Just to add to the craziness of getting those tickets. Bon chance!
Thanks so much, another Amy here looking to buy tickets. We'd like to go on Monday, April 15, so now I know the correct time (people had mentioned both midnight AND 1 pm, which was confusing, but now I understand one is for 60 days in advance and one is for 7 days in advance).
So glad to read this post. We are also heading to Paris in early June and the last time we were there timed tickets in advance was not a thing. Oh goodness we will have one sad teen if tickets to the Eiffel can't be secured. I better figure out when our drop date is and good to know 7 days out more will release as well. Thank you all! And good luck to those also needing tickets!
Timing for when to buy a ticket and timing for when to go:
You got an answer for when to buy tickets. Here is my advice as to when to go.
Try to buy your time slot for near sunset so you can see the tower with daylight and when it is dark. If that’s not available, I’d buy for night. My opinion is it is prettier at night (the tower and the city).
Same questions here!! We’re also going in Early June and trying to figure out especially what are the best times to get a view of the city and tower. Wishing you good luck on snatching those tickets!
