Eiffel Tower Tickets - Is the official website usable?

I've been trying to book the tower for a trip to the top with the champagne but have been unsuccessful. Perhaps it's not possible as it seems that any time I try to book it is unavailable even though the times are listed. Has anyone been successful at this?

I found that I couldn't book any tickets using Chrome and switched to Safari which worked for the regular elevator up to the 2nd Floor. Are you unable to book any of the different types of tickets? If so, try switching browsers.

I did try to book any tickets at any "available" time now using a different browser. I've used Firefox and now Safari but with no luck. Do you know what time the next day's tickets become available? I'm in Pacific time zone.

You can purchase tickets only 60 days from your desired date. I had heard that they are released in France at 8:30 a.m. which is 2:30 a.m. Eastern time--my time. So, that would be 11:30 p.m. for you. I purchased my tickets at 2:23 a.m., so they are actually released earlier than 8:30. Also, I did not get my desired time but was able to get them 30 minutes earlier than that. They go fast! Mine was for September 10th which is a Sunday. Weekends are much more popular. If you can, try for a weekday.

Tickets are released at midnight in France. I had everything filled out and ready, then refreshed the browser at midnight (or was it 12:01) and bought tickets. Tour companies have access before individuals, so some times were already gone when they went on sale at midnight European time.
I bought second floor tickets, no champagne. You can buy a glass of champagne there.
I used a computer to be able to type with two hands, while my husband read the credit card info aloud to save us precious seconds.

Thank you both for replying. I will try again tonight and type fast.... We're not going until later September and don't really care what time we get to go up.

"We're not going until later September and don't really care what time we get to go up." September 16th is the latest you could reserve tickets today for the ET. Look at 60 days from the day you want. You cannot get tickets until then.

Right, that's what I meant. I've been only trying to book on days that they show are available, but every time for every time of day my payment is refused.

I had that happen a few years ago because my credit card company had to authorize it first. That has since changed for me. Perhaps you need to call your cc company. Fingers crossed for you.

I finally had success. After calling my credit card company for them to add a note to my account that I would be traveling to France in September, I thought that might do it... But, not successful. Then I decided to use my debit card (VISA) and it instantly went through. I also discovered that the date rolled over at midnight Paris time on one browser (Safari) but later on Firefox. So I guess that answer is keep trying different things. Thanks all of you for your good advice.

hey hey steve
happy to see you got tickets and don't look back. things have changed so much in the 3 years we were there.
so many people on this "revenge travel" with crowds everywhere and all want to see the same thing in many big cities.
don't be upset, last time up they never opened champagne bar. us three friends walked across street to "tabacchi/liquor shop" bought 2 bottles of champagne, owner sold us three plastic glasses (he's prepared LOL), walked back to park "champ des mars", sat on bench and celebrated with others watching the blinking lights.
it was a fun night, gorgeous views. enjoy your night
