Eiffel Tower Tickets Hack/Tip

Hi All,

It took three days, but I FINALLY secured our Eiffel Tower tickets for July and wanted to share a tip/hack I found that helped.

Tickets go on sale at midnight Paris time - which is a perfectly reasonable 6pm here on the East Coast. Except, whenever I tried a dummy run in the weeks leading up to this, the 60-days-out date was never available. It turns out your DEVICE needs to be set to Paris time - in my case, my computer. I set it to Paris time yesterday and at 6pmEST/MidnightCET, it worked! Of course, the website malfunctioned between me putting tickets in my basket and actually paying for them, but it finally worked tonight! (I'll note this was AFTER I thought they went on sale at 830am Paris time and got up at 2:20am only to find everything was sold out.)

Hope this helps!!

I used the official site (toureiffel.paris/en). I know many tickets go on sale seven days out but 1) We will already be in France at that time and 2) I wanted to secure them early so I can make other timed-entry plans. The point I was trying to make is that it seems like one's device needs to be set to Paris time. Otherwise the website will think it is too early and not allow you to buy on the 60th day. It's great that more tickets are released at 1pm Paris time seven days out - that's good to know! But that information is moot if the website thinks your seven days out starts six-nine hours later. Maybe others already knew about the time set. I haven't seen it discussed here, and so thought others might find it helpful.

Thank you, this is helpful! I did not realize we had another chance at 7 days out - I am going to try that and set my computer time accordingly!

Thank you all so much for the helpful tips, especially Janettravels44.
We are headed to Paris on the Rick Steves' Family Tour and our 15 year old grandson's #1 request is to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower (He had been there at 5 years of age, and doesn't remember).
Our daughter wasn't able to buy tickets 60 days out, but was successful early this morning....at 6:00 AM PDT, (9 hours difference) and two hours after tickets became available at 13:00 Paris time.
She intended to log on at 4:00 am PDT, but fell asleep.
I appreciate the information everyone kindly passes on.
Gratefully, Carol

Where’s the 7-day out info coming from? Anyone have a source? If someone tests it by doing dummy bookings 7-days out, could you report back. Is that when the tour companies which scoop up tickets turn in unsold ones?

Elizabeth, several sources on this forum, like janettravels44, have confirmed the 7-day ticket window. I made dummy reservations back in May to confirm it myself before buying my tower tickets for a late May evening time. It worked perfectly. I don't know where the tickets come from --perhaps Janet can confirm.

Allison, this was really helpful advice! I couldn't figure out why the ticket date wouldn't open at midnight Paris time and was getting super frustrated. Found your post and changed my device time zone and BAM! the date was now selectable. Thank you, thank you!! I was able to snag the tickets I wanted.

I've done many dummy bookings for the 7 days out timeframe and never had a problem. Didn't need to set my computer to Paris time. Many visits, many tickets purchased, and the 7 days out at 1pm Paris time always works for me. It's not posted anywhere officially, because they want people to believe tickets are getting scarce and panic you into buying their more expensive option with a plastic cup of champagne.

Just to note, Les Frenchies are reporting that many of their followers have been fooled by "spoof" sites for the Eiffel and the Louvre which look awfully real and official. Stop and think.
