Guidebook says get tickets at least 2-3 months ahead, but web site only allows you to go 2- 3 months out. Have they changed howfar you can go out?
I’d go with whatever the official site says.
The change is likely due to COVID
Mist guidebooks have not caught up and may not need to as things return to normal
Tickets are currently available to purchase 2 months in advance. Use the official website https://ticket.toureiffel.paris/en
Tickets available two months out. We bought tickets for a Saturday in May. Went on line early morning PDT which was about 2:00 PM Paris time on the first day of availability. Several of the time slots were already sold out. You need to jump on those tickets exactly 2 months ahead, not 2 months and 12 hours!!
yes we did it two months out and could not get the time slot we wanted. It is fine and we have tickets to the top but the perfect slots do go quickly. Last time we did this it was rainy --probably will be this time too but the Eiffel Tower is actually kind of cool in the rain and a lot less crowded.
I will say we are going to be in Paris at the end of April and they seem to open the whole week at one time. I checked every evening before bed to make sure we didn't miss it when our desired date was coming close, and the day our date was finally available for purchase, I bought the tickets at about 9pm - by that time, the time slot we were looking for was gone, and that seemed to be the case for about half the tickets for the day. No great loss - we're going to France, hard to complain about that ( :) ! ) but if you see your date is almost available, I would definitely start checking regularly to make sure you can get tickets for the day you want.
