Eiffel Tower Tickets Advice

Hello everyone,

I will be in Paris next month and I was looking at tickets to the top of Eiffel tower. Unfortunately, the only time slots available for the days I will be in the city are 2pm and 3pm. I would love to be at the summit at sunset but at the same time, I only have 4 days in Paris so I want to maximize my days in the city.

My question is: should I jump the gun and buy the tickets for this time or is it better to take a risk and line up on the same day? I'm not very familiar with the queue times and stuff so I am hoping for some advice.

Thank you so much in advance!

You should get whatever ticket you can if one is still available!

You only have 4 days. How much of that do you want to spend in an endless queue? Besides, I can think of a lot of places for wonderful sunset views. And there's no guarantee that it won't be cloudy on the day you go.

I hope you enjoy it. I remember the first time I saw the Eiffel Tower arriving in central Paris. Wow, we are here! Then getting close and the enormity of it. But last year we went to the top. Eh. It was a high up place that we shared with several hundred of our newest friends. But we had to do it and so do you!

I agree with the others, grab whatever tickets are still available!

Make sure you go to the Trocadero for best views of the tower after sunset when it's illuminated and then watch it twinkle at the hour!

Enjoy PAris!

For future reference only... Eiffel Tower tickets may be booked online up to 92 days in advance and they usually sell out rather quickly.

Alan,

Thanks for the story. I still remember the first time I saw Statue of Liberty. It doesn't matter how much I repeatedly said in the past that it was too cliched and touristy... my first glimpse of it was truly special. After a few minutes, I was back to my "eh" face. :)

Priscilla,

Thanks for the advice! I will look up Trocadero. I am actually excited to see Eiffel Tower all lit up. :) The going to the top is just for the sake of going to the top, really. I guess I just want to see it and actually be there. :)

Btw everyone...

I booked the 3pm timeslot yesterday. When I checked again today, all the days are sold out! Woohoo, glad I grabbed it when I did. Thanks for the push! :)

Fingers-crossed that the weather will cooperate that day. :) If not, oh well. I'll make the most out of it. :)

Now I need to figure out what else to look at (and other advance tickets I need to get)

James,

I didn't hear that. I did hear some rumors about Godzilla and Kong having their next fight there soon so I better hurry up and see Eiffel Tower. :)

The first time we went it was kind of rainy and it was still awesome.

Yes, best views and pictures will be across at Trocadero. If you take the metro, get off there and then walk back to the tower. Leave time to get through security.

Have fun!

Hi there,
I am in a panic. I leave for Paris in 6 days on 9/8 and had planned to tour Eiffel Tower on Saturday evening. I do not have tickets, and cannot buy online. What should I do? HELP!

@1025hvm -- what you should do is enjoy Paris!
You will be able to see the Eiffel Tower from many places -- one of my favorites is standing below the tower and looking up. Or from a boat on the Seine. Just don't let anybody make you feel that your trip is ruined if you don't get up the tower.
