eiffel tower ticket vs lunch/dinner

I have Ricks Paris book 2018 but one thing is not clear; If i make a reservation and have lunch or dinner on the tower do I still need to purchase a ticket to go up to the second floor? If not, does the meal reservation allow us access to any viewing areas outside the restaurant, or just the view from the restaurant itself? Finally, to anyone who's dined on the Eiffel tower, is that experience sufficient in your opinion from a view perspective? Or is the view good but the limited access to N/S/E/W views a different experience worth a separate ticket? Hope I'm being clear. Travel is the last week of March 2018.

Thanks and happy new year.

My husband and I made a dinner reservation at one of the Eiffel Tower restaurants instead of waiting in line for the lift tickets. We got the lift ticket with the dinner reservation. We ate at the less fancy of the two restaurants, on the lower level of the tower, and loved the view so much we didn't end up going to the top level. We paid extra for a window table, and then walked around the outside of the restaurant after to see the views from some other angles than our table, and that worked perfect for us and we got to see what we wanted! Highly recommend! Have a fabulous time!

You can include the Lift ticket for your meal when you place your order,we did that in May with a window seat and the views of the sun going down at 10 pm is worth the extra cost.

Read the information included in the statement, carefully.
If you change your reservation, you will lose money.

You get to either restaurant ("58 Tour Eiffel" or "Le Jules Verne") from the the deck at that level, so you can walk around the deck all you want before and after your meal. I believe you have to buy a ticket to the second level in order to go up to either the first or second levels. An additional ticket is required if you want to go to the summit (no restaurant up there).
We found eating at 58 to be romantic on our first visit to Paris and exciting for our granddaughters on a later trip. The food is adequate and overpriced - if you're only talking about eating a meal in a restaurant. This one, however, is up in the Eiffel Tower and that's what you're paying for.
In each case, the view from our table was good, but you are in a restaurant, so walking around (and presumably peering over other peoples' tables while they're eating) might not be the best way to see views from the Tower.
