Good Morning! We will be in Paris mid August. I tried purchasing our tickets for the Eiffel tower on line, bit it appears the majority of the days we'll be there are sold out. I've been to Paris a few times and I remember the lines to enter the Eiffel tower are extremely long. Are we better off purchasing the tickets on line (for a less desirable date/time) or take a chance and wait in line? Thanks!
I would not want to wait in line in August myself and would buy the ticket; if you can't get tickets to the top you can buy them on the second floor. Everyone waits in the same elevator line to the top regardless of when they got the tickets. If you want to walk up, you can get tickets at the base and also buy the elevator to the top at the same time with a combo ticket; of course walking up in August may be more than you want to do but the line for that is usually much shorter than for the elevators.
Marie,
If it were me, I'd buy in advance now in order to avoid waiting in a possibly LONG queue.
You can always get to the Trocadero at night for great views of the tower, all lit up, & when it twinkles at the hour after the sun sets ;-)
Eiffel Tower tickets go on sale (online) 92 days in advance & summertime is super busy!
Enjoy your time in Paris!
Get anything you can! We are here now and breezed right through today with our pre-purchased tickets - the ticket lines were INSANE.
Same for the Louvre. Get tickets and the 9am entry. When we came out around 11:30 the lines were completely nuts, even at the carousel entrance.
