Eiffel Tower summit tickets

I’ve heard everywhere that you need to buy your Eiffel tower tickets and advance. I did not realize how far in advance that meant. I just went online to the eiffe tower website tonight to buy tickets to go to the top during the first few days in July and they are all sold out. Does anyone know if there’s other companies or agencies that might sell tickets to the top? If the official website is sold out am I stuck only going to the second floor? If we just wait in the long line on the day are we able to take lift to the top?

ET tickets were typically available about 2 months in advance but the schedule has been irregular as of late. However, 3 to 4 weeks in advance is not really sufficient lead time for ET tickets. You have two choices, either stand in line or purchase tickets, at very elevated prices, from third parties such as Viator.

Tickets to the summit are now sold only at the ground level ticket booths.

Rick has this in his pee-tour planning trip.

Fat Tire Tours' "Skip the Line" Eiffel Tower tours (which include a reserved Eiffel Tower ticket). These tours are not cheap, but as a Rick Steves tour member you can save 10 percent by entering "2018RICKSTEVES" in the Promotional Code field at checkout.

I feel your pain. The top of the tower at sunset was my wife’s dream for our first res tour in July. I went on the ET site every day starting in early May. The month of May and June were already booked. Last Friday I went on and July was open! Managed summit tickets for 8pm on July 7th. It’s a tough ticket for sure. I agree with the other responders, the line or a third party are your best options. Good luck!

the other option if you are fit is to walk up to level 2 and take the elevator to the top. This ticket is bought only at the bottom and that line tends to be short. It is actually a lot of fun if you are up for it. You can take the elevators down.

What can't you do? You can certainly buy a ticket to walk up at the bottom and for the elevator to the top. And you can certainly wait in the long elevator line the day of and take the lifts all the way to the top; you just have to wait a while to get those tickets. What you cannot do is go to the second floor and buy a lift to the top on the second floor; that option is no longer available.
