FYI:
The summit of the Eiffel Tower is closed for refurbishment until February 3.
I knew that the Eiffel Tower gets refurbished from time to time but didn’t realize that it’s an annual event.
Here’s an excerpt from the official website:
The top floor is very exposed!
Each year, repairs must be carried out on this level. It is very exposed to constant winds at this altitude (for example, when the wind on the ground reaches a speed of 31 mph (50 km/h) it hits more than 50 mph (80 km/h) at the top of the Tower), as well as bad weather of all types: freezing temperatures, rain, snow, hail, sun, etc. The summit is of course the most emblematic level and the dream destination of so many travelers! It is very busy and often saturated during the summer months. Half of the visitors to the Eiffel Tower go to it each year.

Please note:
The first and second floors (via elevator or stairs) will remain open during this time.
Wishing I were in Paris now!
