Eiffel Tower/Cruise Christmas Day

Hello, we booked an Eiffel Tower/Seine cruise on Christmas day. Do we need to make dinner reservations for a (regular) meal for that evening or are cafes/brasseries open? We are doing the big meal Christmas Eve. Ty very much!

Btw we used Headout for the tours in case anyone needs a ticket app. I’ve used them before without an issue.

I am sure the locals will respond but my memory (about ten years ago) was that nearly everything was closed on Christmas Day. The restaurants associated with big hotels were open and packed with tourists.

Frank, that is exactly how it was in London on Christmas Day 2019. We picked up a prepared Christmas Dinner the day before to reheat on Christmas Day.

Dinner on 25 Dec is easier to find than on 24 Dec, as 24 Dec dinner is the big Christmas meal in France (unlike in England!), sometimes followed by a big lunch on 25 Dec. Smaller restaurants may indeed be closed, but many cafes and brasseries will be open. Plan/book in advance if you want to, but no need to do so weeks in advance.

Thank you! So I don’t need to worry about reservations that night? We will be preoccupied with the tours that afternoon so we won’t be able to do a big lunch.

I don’t mind wandering the streets that night…just want to make sure I can feed my kiddos!
