Eiffel Tower closed last two weeks of October?

Hey gang-

Trying to book two tickets for my wife and a friend for the Eiffel Tower in late October. I'm on the official website at https://ticket.toureiffel.paris/en Tickets are wide open from today for the next two weeks or so. Then completely unavailable starting October 22 through November 4. I've searched for any indication of a maintenance closure. Just wondering if I'm overlooking something obvious. Merci!

David,
Unfortunately there are no more tickets available for the date you’re searching.
Tickets become available 60 days in advance, and they sell out fast, especially during high season.

Here’s the information from the official website:

The desired visit date is not available, what should I do?

Certain days (weekends, days during peak season between July and August) are in high demand and we sell out quickly, especially for e-tickets for the top floor, which are the most popular. If you are flexible, select another date that is shown as available. The dates marked in orange indicate that the last tickets are available. Lined out or grayed out dates are no longer available. If there is no more online availability, note that tickets to visit the Eiffel Tower are also sold on site at the ticket offices at the monument.
Regardless, we sell our tickets online up to 60 days in advance (for lift tickets) and 14 days in advance (for stairs tickets to second floor). If you can, plan your visit well in advance, so you will have the choice of date, destination and time.

Your wife and her friend have some options:

  • Arrive early and buy tickets at the Eiffel Tower (possible long queue)
  • The queue for taking the stairs may be shorter.
  • Book a tour that includes going up the ET, but make sure the tour takes them up to the summit, if that’s where they want to go, as some tours only go up to the second level.

Wishing them a great trip!

Thanks Priscilla! That makes sense. Sounds like what I'm seeing with availability are the 14 day-out tickets for stairs and then much later for lifts. So it's that window in between that is unavailable. Not too worried about it...just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something like a repair closure or similar. Cheers!

October 22 to Nov 4 is French school holidays, and Nov 1 is a holiday in several neighboring countries, so there you go!
Paris has plenty of alternative viewpoints thankfully - arc de Triomphe, Tour Montparnasse are seldom crowded.

Also the tops of Galerie Lafayette and Printemps, and Sacre Coeur.

You might also pop into a FNAC store and see if they can help you with last minute tix.
