Eiffel Tower Champagne Bar

Hi all!

I am looking to visit the champagne bar at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Does anyone know what the deal is with tickets? Or is it more of a walk-up service? We were just wondering if we needed to reserve a spot or a special ticket in order to access the champagne bar. Thank you!

champagne bar sort of suggests seats and a charming waitress and a view out over the city -- but the 'Champagne Bar' is literally a closet where champagne is dispensed in plastic glasses over the top of a split door -- you. can then wander around drinking and viewing. We were there on April 9 and it was not open late in the afternoon when we were there.

there is a picture of the champagne bar in this report of a visit to the ET in the rain several years ago.

The bar is still the same.

i wanted to do that in October, but the top was closed for an unknown reason (Presuming maintenance). However, on the 2nd floor (their 2nd floor) you can also buy a plastic glass o' champagne and bonus - macarons!

I found the top floor very crowded, and the champagne really expensive. Plus the view from the second floor is better because you can actually identify landmarks. From the top everything looks flat.

There was no line last night so no problem walking right up even though the tower was packed with people —it was about 15 euros + per small “glass”.

We have more fun getting a bottle of wine and some snacks and sitting on the lawn behind the tower with all the other tower admirers and waiting for the tower to "sparkle" and everyone cheers. It's a lot more fun than paying $$$ for a paper cup of champagne. If you want the overview, do that, but toast the tower from the lawn. It really is fun.

Much of the Champs de Mars is cordened off right now. Only one sqaure of lawn was open for picnics. It looks like they are re-seeding the lawns.

We just left a couple of days ago. Saturday night there was plenty of lawn seating back behind the tower where we usually go, but this night we crossed over the street riverside and watched. The most amusing (or not so) were all the rats coming out at night to ravage the garbage cans. We saw it on both sides. One woman was sitting on a bench oblivious to all the rats running about around her. They are well fed.
