Eiffel Tower Access During Olympics

We will be in Paris on August 5th and 6th. Initially, our plan was to explore the areas around the Eiffel Tower (streets, bridges, and the Trocadéro). However, due to major closures for the Olympics, we are unsure if we can access these areas to take photos with the tower.

Could someone provide information on the following:

• Is it still possible to walk around these areas and take pictures during this time?
• Do we need a QR code or Olympic Games tickets to access these areas (just to walk around)?

Thank you!

You won't need a QR code to access those areas during your dates. The main time of concern is between July 18-26. Some areas will be blocked off because they're Olympic Venues like Champs de mars. Trocadero is becoming Champion's Park.

There's an interactive map you can use to see if there are any areas of impact, you just have to punch in your dates and time. There are competitions going on around the Eiffel Tower during your dates, but you will be able to walk around (red and blue perimeter are open to pedestrians) and certainly will be able to take photos with the Eiffel Tower.

A lot of the area around the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero will be blocked off because of the temporary structures for the Olympics (Champions Park at the Trocadero, Beach Volleyball and Judo in front of the Tower) so it won't be like it usually is but you probably can still get close enough to get a picture. Might want to check into tickets now for the ET because I have heard many days are already sold out.

Thank you both for the information and for the link to the interactive map. We'll check it to plan our visit
