We are looking at booking online tickets for going all the way up to the summit on 3rd May. We were hoping to book at a time which is just before sunset so we can see Paris in daylight and night both. The official website says that it is open from 9:30 am to 11:45 pm and the last lift will be at 11:00 pm. But when I go ahead to buy the ticket online, it only shows admission slots until 20:00 (sunset is predicted at 21:20). Even among them, the last slot with availability is 16:00. This seems weird to me because slots after 20:00 are not even displayed (not even as sold out). Secondly, even June dates don't seem to show available slots beyond 16:00. How can all these dates be already sold out for the exact same slots? Does anyone have any information on this?

Yes I experienced the same issue, no evening tickets were available for purchase online when I went to book (did not even show up as an option) we will be in Paris early. I just went ahead and purchased for 11:30am. I am planning an evening/night time river cruise so we can have a view of the Paris sunset since we will not be having this experience at the Effiel tower :) I hope you have a great trip.

Another good place to go up just before sunset and stay for dark to see the lights is the Arc de Triomphe. I loved being up there at sunset, then watching the lights come on on all the avenues radiating out from there (including the Champs Elysees), and then watching the Eiffel Tower lit up and sparkling on the hour after dark. A good alternative.
