Eygalieres Provence

Nice place to stay for one night nearby? Is there lodging in the village?

Did you mean Eygalieres? How far is nearby? Are you driving? Large town or small village? My choice would be St Remy de Provence. But both Avignon and Arles are less than an hour. Or were you looking for hotel recommendations?

Hi from Wisconsin

Nancy has nailed it on the head. St. Remy is just the right size to have everything you want plus a bit. And it has a very nice market day. Arrange your stay and airline tickets, if you can, so you can experience the St. Remy market.

Gosh, spend more than one night. I don't know how long you have in France, but slow down. St. Remy at least two nights. Arrive the day before the market, explore the town. Have a nice meal. Some wine. Walk around in the eveing into the night. get up. Enjoy the hubbub of the market. Eat some street food. Buy some locally produced handicraft (they had some really nice olive wood cutting boards when we were there). Now that you know the town (heh, heh) enjoy a second night's meal at the place from last night is it was really good, or the new place you have discovered during your stay.

If you are visiting the region for a while use St. Remy as a base.

Truth is, we stayed in a Gites de France apartment about 6 miles east of St. Remy. Close enough. But k=no wine for me before driving. Even if only 6 miles on a back road. (Gites de France, google that)
