We will be spending two days and nights in Paris. We are staying in Rue Cler and will get to see all the big things (Eiffel Tower, Orsay, Notre Dame, etc..). I was mostly wondering if anyone has any tips for seeing the sights most efficiently, and I was also curious about a night tour on the Seine. Are night boat tours recommended? Do you recommend dinner cruises or just night cruises? Cruise companies? Bike tours? What have your experiences been?
When (what time of year) are you traveling?
We'll be there in late August.
I've taken boat trips on the Seine both by day and by night, and enjoyed both. The experience is different, so I didn't find it a duplication at all. Dinner cruises are thought by most to be a poor value; for the high prices they charge, you can have a separate night cruise and a better meal on land.
I haven't taken a bike tour, but if you search on this Forum, you'll see that those who have usually have positive experiences.
I would do the regular evening boat tour on Bateaux-Mouches or Bateaux Parisiens, rather than seated dinner, so you can be more focused on the view and move to different parts of the boat when you feel like it.
