Eating in Chamonix France

We have secured an apartment for our five night stay in Chamonix France 28 August - 2 September. I would appreciate any advice about eating in Chamonix including breakfast and coffee. With out knowing it we are in Chamonix during the Mont-Blanc Ultra Trail Race which is "busiest weekend of the year". Because of this I would like to make a few meal reservations or at least know what I am doing before I arrive 28 August. Thank you.

We had a wonderful dinner at Le Monchu. I highly recommend it.

We traveled for 2 weeks. Our best meal was at Bizes in Chamonix. Small menu but excellent food.

My daughter and I visited Chamonix a few years back and we enjoyed our meals at
MBC, a microbrewery with good burgers.
We also liked Restaurant Le Caveau for pizza and other typical dishes. We ate here twice during our visit.
We almost couldn’t find this place because it’s actually located below the street level down a staircase into a unique cave setting.

Make sure you check out Le Fournil Chamoniard (near the Aiguille du Midi cable car) for mouth watering pastries, sandwiches, and a variety of delicious quiches. We ate here more than once! Super yummy!

Enjoy your time in beautiful Chamonix!

Everyone's suggestions are wonderful and appreciated. Turns out my daughter and her husband ate at Bitzes the day before they did the 100 mile Mont-Blanc trek. They were amazed the RS forum came up this helpful information. I have extended our apartment contract one additional day, 3 September, in order to see the finish of the Mont-Blanc Ultra Trail Race!!

So I have Le Monchu, Bitzes, Mbc, Restaurant Le Caveau, and most definitely Le Fournil Chamoniard on my radar and list. I will make a couple of reservations.
Thank you Vickie, jmh and Priscilla for taking the time to respond. China lake 67, I did repost the question in the destination portion of RS Travel Forum. Thank you for the suggestion.
