Eateries in the Dordogne

Does anyone have a recommendation for a lunch place (or dinner for that matter) within, say a 1 or 2 hour drive from Dome or Sarlat? We would love to find a new place in the countryside or small-town. We did find one such place, The Black Duck near Carlucet a few years back which we like very much and wish we could find more such places. We would also be happy to hear of a place in a nearby city.

Highly recommend La Belle Etoile in La Rocque Gageac. I wish we would have eaten there every night!

Thanks, Jules! We had eaten there may be 10 years ago and thought that though the restaurant was lovely the food was so-so. I'm thinking maybe it has improved since then. We had been thinking about trying it again in any case. So, again thank you so much for your recommendation.

We had a lovely dinner last year at Le Grand Bleu in Sarlat. Our best dinner on a 4 week trip.

Kay,
We had dinner at Le Grand Bleu in Sarlat also. Terrific! A special occasion, so not cheap, but a treat.
We had a good lunch at Les Courtines restaurant in La Roque Gageac also and it was very, very good and reasonably priced. LaRoque about a 20 minute drive from Sarlat. We went after spending the morning at Castelnaud -la-Chapelle . They each have a website if you want to check them out.
Bon appetit!

The two best meals we had in the Dordogne (where we mostly shop at markets and cook in) were in Dome at Esplanade and in Montignac at Roseraie hotel. I think the hotel has changed hands since we last at there but for years we enjoyed magnificent meals in their restaurant -- wonderful menu for a reasonable price. I hope the new owners have kept the tradition of a fine kitchen.
