Eastern France Tour and recommendations for departure from Marseilles

I am booked for the Eastern France tour early May which ends in Aix-en-Provence. I am booked on a flight at 7:55 am for departure from Marseilles the next day. Should I book a hotel room in Marseilles for the the night before I depart or is it unreasonable to leave from Aix in the early morning and get to the Marseilles airport in an efficient amount of time? Thanks for your help!

Marseille Airport is basically equidistant from Marseille and from Aix, so you are fine in Aix. Have a taxi booked for you, your hotel can do it. Or there are buses, worth considering if the hotel is next to the bus station, but I do not know how early they run from Aix.

Jan, you can stay in Aix and arrange for a taxi to pick you up at your hotel. Given the time you will be leaving, it is not an especially long ride. My guess is that most flying out after your tour will be leaving from Aix.

Your RS guide may also offer to batch people together for taxis for different flight departure times.

Several chain hotels have branches at or near Provence Marseille airport. Google Maps can show what's there.

It is very easy to take a cab from Aix-en-Provence to the airport. I did it in May and left early. I sent you a PM too. No need to book a hotel room in Marseilles.
