I always appreciate the advice of travelers on this forum and would welcome any input:
1) I am planning to take a train from Paris to Amboise on Easter Sunday. From my research it looks like trains are running.
2) I am trying to figure out if Remi 41 has service on Easter Monday to visit chateaus. I still see the Xmas schedule posted. Anyone have additional insights?
3) Any other advice spending Easter in Paris/the Loire Valley?
We took a train from Paris to Tours on Easter Mon last year. Then we rented a car and stayed in Amboise. The trains were very full on Mon, I guess because people heading home? But the rental car place was operating as normal.
I just looked on train line and the train that day from Paris to Tours is almost all sold out. Book asap.
Everything else was normal to our knowledge that week after Easter. Except that some chateaus are decorated with Easter decor (Cheverny for sure!). It was beautiful.
I was in Paris on Easter Sunday and had checked the train times before I bought my tickets to Monet's Garden in Giverny. On Thursday I checked again, I could get there but no train back! How could that be! Called the train company, Called Monet Foundation and fortunately since I was returning to Paris November 1, the last day of the season, I was able to use my ticket to the Garden then. Also there is a time change on Easter Sunday, spring ahead.
