Easter in Paris

Hello! My family and I are planning to spend time in Paris during my kids' spring break from school and our first weekend there will be Easter Sunday. I was hoping to visit Versailles on that day (it looks like it's opened), but I wasn't sure if we should do Versaille the day before Easter and spend Easter Sunday in Paris proper. Would there be any benefits/downsides to either option? Unfortunately, those are our only two days to visit (we'll be heading to Normandy on Monday). I also assume but don't know for sure that Frances doesn't shut down completely for Easter the way Portugal and Spain do? Any help would be wonderful. Thank you!

It doesn't completely shut down, but the Monday following Easter is also a public holiday.

That probably won't affect you too much (banks, post offices, etc will be closed), although public transportation will be on a holiday (less frequent) schedule.
