Has anyone been in Arles during the April bullfighting Feria? We totally made a rookie mistake and booked our stay in Arles right smack in the middle of the Feria dates without first checking for events in the area. Arles was where we were going to have our laid back, quiet, slow moving Provence break from Paris and London and now I'm learning it could be a little crazy while we're there. Street parties, etc. There isn't much information online about what it's like in the town that weekend. I would love some input if you have it! Thanks!
Here is a link to a full program of events, taking place all over the town. Parades, street bodegas, running of the bulls, concerts, street music, and of course a full daily program of bullfights at the town Arena. Very authentic. (Olé).
A lot depends on where you’re staying. And this could be serendipity, if you’re looking to mingle with the locals. But there will also be late night dance concerts in the squares that will draw a crowd from all over the region.
Should you decide to flee, don’t cancel your hotel until you’ve booked an alternative. You’re visiting during the France spring holidays and lovely quiet hotels may be at a premium.
