We are planning a trip in early October to Chamonix area as well as Lauterbrunnen. We are planning to do some hikes. Will ski lifts be open to drop us at trailheads?

Sounds like it: https://www.chamonet.com/lifts/summer. I'm looking at RSEs FR book and he doesn't mention it so I'm assuming yes.
