We just returned for a month-long stay in Paris. I am a photographer, and many mornings while there, I got up early and walked to the Seine from our apartment (about a 15 minute walk) to take pictures of Notre Dame and other places. At 7 in the morning, you essentially have the place to yourself. I got many great pictures of Notre Dame and other monuments and bridges reflected in the river. If you are at Notre Dame at 8 in the morning when it opens, you can walk right in, no lines, and you won't find more than a couple dozen people there at the same time. I also took the Metro up to Sacre Coeur and Montmartre about that time of the morning, and there were only a few other people there at that time, and you can get some great pictures with no people in them.
