Early Morning on the Seine Taking Pictures

We just returned for a month-long stay in Paris. I am a photographer, and many mornings while there, I got up early and walked to the Seine from our apartment (about a 15 minute walk) to take pictures of Notre Dame and other places. At 7 in the morning, you essentially have the place to yourself. I got many great pictures of Notre Dame and other monuments and bridges reflected in the river. If you are at Notre Dame at 8 in the morning when it opens, you can walk right in, no lines, and you won't find more than a couple dozen people there at the same time. I also took the Metro up to Sacre Coeur and Montmartre about that time of the morning, and there were only a few other people there at that time, and you can get some great pictures with no people in them.

This is not only a great tip for Paris, but lots of other places that get crowds (Venice and Prague come to mind as two cities where my best pictures were taken early in the morning).
