We have a 6:30 am flight out of Nice/Côte d'Azure; are early-morning taxis easy to hail in the downtown area or should I book one the night before?

I asked my hotel to book an early morning taxi for me. No problem.

Never count on hailing a cab in France for a high stakes thing like a flight. Absolutely book one the day before (in Paris you need to book 2 nights before; sometimes they don't have availability the night before). It is usually hard to hail cabs or find them at most cab stands in France but at 6:30 am - no way.
