Early March Paris—include Mt Saint Michel with strike?

Hi
My husband and I are visiting Paris for seven days in early March. I know there is a train strike going on.

My original hope was to spend the first three days in Paris and then take a trip to Normandy to see any combination of Mt Saint Michel (maybe staying overnight in order to go to Mass early morning with the monks which I gather is only possible on the island, Bayeux, and/or Normandy beaches. The hope would be to go via train and bus combo to that area one day, stay overnight, and return late on the second day to Paris. We’d then have a chance to take a day trip by train to Chartres.

I know some drive but I don’t drive stick so I’d prefer public transportation or a tour bus.

Given the strike, what would you suggest? Staying in Paris and/or trying for shorter day trips like Chartres or Giverny that can be bought once we are there? Or is getting to Normandy and back reasonable to fit in?

Thanks for any advice.
