Hello, We are staying at the Citadines St. Germain in Paris for 4 nights and I am now wondering if we should switch (just for our last night in Paris) to the Ibis Styles across the street from the Eurostar train station on our last night - so we don't have to worry about a cab/metro so early in the morning?
I really don't want to stay at 2 different hotels in Paris but I will be traveling with 2 teens and tween and wondering how easy it will be to get a cab at 530am in the morning at the Citadines. I would welcome any tips are we are totally comfortable taking a metro if it's open that early. But might prefer to pay for a cab or just switch hotels.
Download the app Q7, and you can book the taxi on your phone. They are reliable and easy to use.
The taxi app is G7 rather than Q, but yes, this is good advice. It's much simpler to reserve a taxi than to move hotels !!
If you don't want to download the app, check out their website - they have a special phone number for taking English-language calls.
The metro is not open that early, but G7 is 100% reliable.
thanks for the comments. Do we call G7 the night before or early - the same morning?
Call the day before. It's easy to use, and the taxi is waiting when you want it.
thank you very much
There is a fee for bookings: 7€ for advance bookings and 4€ for immediate bookings. You may know this already but I thought I would mention it.
True. With the €7 fee, the ride from St Germain to Gare du Nord should cost about €20, no more.
I will go against the current.
For me, staying across the street form the train station would bring me peace of mind.
No traffic problem would keep me from making the train.
Specially since I read in another post that you have to be there 1 hour before departure.
The first Eurostar during the week isn't until 7:03, and then 7:33, so a taxi at 5:30 should be fine...
