Early Check-in at CDG Hotels

We have a relatively early arrival at CDG later this year. Will likely be very tired from an overnight flight. We plan on staying at an airport hotel for the night after arrival. Does anyone know if any of the hotels around CDG offer early check-in? I realize there will be a cost but hopefully more cost effective than paying an additional night for a couple of hours.

It would probably depend on whether the room was occupied the night before, vacated, and cleaned. My guess is that it is unlikely, but you can always call the hotel to ask. I think most would recommend booking the hotel for the night before.

Do you plan to arrive at CDG, check into the airport hotel, and stay there all day? Will you then be going into Paris the next day? If that's your plan, I beg of you to reconsider. You will not be so tired that you will sleep for the next 24 hours. You will have nothing to see or do at the airport. Take a cab to a hotel in Paris. You can drop your bags at the hotel, have lunch, and then check in to your room.

It's always worth asking when you check in, if your room is ready. My sister and I arrived in Paris at 7:00am from the US and got to our hotel around 10:00. We asked if we could check in early and they were very nice and got the room ready in about 20 minutes. It may also depend on how busy they are when you arrive at the hotel.

I am assuming you are arriving and then flying out of CDG the next day and so want to be at the airport for the flight. Whether you can check in early will depend on availability of rooms but you can drop your luggage and go into the city for the day regardless. If you will be in Paris for several days then this plan makes no sense and you should grab a cab into a hotel in Paris and not waste time at the airport.

I agree with Janet and Karen that if you're NOT headed out AGAIN from CDG ridiculously early the following day, you should not stay at the airport, but rather go into town and start seeing Paris! It's true with jet-lag and travel and check-in, you won't get a full travel day, but you'll still have several enjoyable hours and that is, after all, why you're coming to France!

As to early check-in -- usually it's not available in Paris, but with the downturn in bookings the past few months, you just might get lucky and be able to get into your room as soon as you arrive. Unfortunately you can't count on it, and the only way to be sure of getting that is to pay for the previous night as well!!
