Driving to CDG

We may need to drive our rental car from Burgundy for return at CDG. Anything we ought to know?

Don't go through Paris, and avoid the peripherique (ring road) if you can. (My opinion)

Drive to CDG if you have no other choice, and if so, take the precautions given above

However, you might consider dropping the car in Dijon and taking the train into Paris, and then a taxi from the train station to the airport as a hassle free alternative

I assume you will be on A6 from Dijon. Transition to A5 and proceed north to A4, turning eastbound. After about 3 miles eastbound on A4, transition to A104/La Francilienne proceeding north. There is an Esso station along the side of La Francilienne where you can easily top up your fuel before returning your car. As La Francilienne starts to curve west just south of CDG, turn right on N2, then turn west on D212 which will be the east entrance to CDG.

You are not entering CDG from A1 on the west. Entering the airport from the east avoids traffic and saves time.

The car rental returns are clearly marked in English on yellow background signs.

Traffic around Paris can be very intense. The place to watch on the suggested route will be along La Francilienne which can slow due to heavy traffic. As an alternative if La Francilienne is blocked, consider A86 east of Paris. You will not want to go all the way to the périphérique and the boundary of Paris.

Tocard, thanks. Google Maps does give me the route you recommend. I would be doing this on a Saturday when traffic may be less intense than on weekdays.
