Driving Route from Marseille to St Remy de Provence

I will be traveling to Provence soon and am driving from the airport in Marseille to St Remy. I would like to take the back roads and see more of the country side and other small towns vs the main highway. Does anyone have a suggested route that will be more interesting?
Thanks for the tips.

There are others probably better suited to this, so hopefully they will chime in. But I think going through Les Baux de Provence wouldn't be too far out of your way, and the drive is beautiful. But it is twisty/windy, and maybe not the best choice if you are just coming off an international flight. And maybe worth more of a stop during your time in St Remy. But honestly, the whole area is so beautiful that as long as the route is in the general direction you want to go, I suspect you'll find something worthy.

Thank you. We are planning a visit to Les Baux while in St Remy, as it sounds lovely. I am wondering if there might be another place to stop for lunch on the way in as we will be getting in around noon.

If you go to viamichelin.com and put in your start and end point, they will show you routes and options, one option is Scenic Route. You can then print out the map route and take it with you.

Make sure you put in St Rémy-de-Provence as your destination. There are many St Rémys in France.

St Rémy-de-Provence is our favorite town in Provence, so lucky you!

I love to suggest scenic routes to people...but honestly, between Marseille airport and Saint-Remy-de-Provence, there is not that much.
If your level of energy is not at its best, just take the A7 to Cavaillon and the D99 west to Saint Rémy (the latter is a gorgeous tree-lined road).
If you are feeling up for it, then the D113 north towards Salon is marginally more scenic than the parallel A7 (but has many cameras, beware!!), and you could then head to Saint Rémy by way of Eyguieres and then towards Eygalieres by D25 and D24, then D99 at last to Saint Rémy. I never tried that bit I just described beyond Salon, but it looks scenic.

OK that is good to know. I guess we will see how we feel after a long day of flying. Thanks for the tips.
