Driving & Parking in Lourdes

Hi All,

i read from the website
http://www.lourdes-fr.com/en/arrival/by-car.htm

that the route between Lourdes' city centre and the sanctuary is changed every 2 weeks. I'm going to use the Garmin for direction and am not sure how this is going to affect the direction from the GPS. Does the road signage clear as well?

As for the parking, on that website it does not mentioned that we could park within the Sanctuary but I see there're couple of parking lots near the main gate. I'll be there during off season so perhaps could still get parking inside. The free parking in Boulevard du Lapacca is not that far but if we could get parking inside the Sanctuary that'd be much better especially in winter time. Any info on this?

The town of Lourdes and the pilgrimage site are directly adjacent to each other. If you are anywhere in the town center it won't be more than a 5-10 minute walk to the grotto and the surrounding complex. The town is relatively small. When I was there I didn't see parking within the grounds of the site but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We parked in a parking garage in town, Place Peyramale, and it was convenient and easy - just a few minutes walk to everything.
As far as the change in direction on the road leading to the sanctuary...it will be clearly marked or posted which direction the road is currently going. You most likely won't need to drive on this road though as it doesn't lead from the main road into town and people generally walk from town to the pilgrimage site.
