I will be attending a wedding in Moustiers Sainte Marie in Sept. 2023. I would like to tour the French Alps by car afterwards. I am concerned about the roads. Is the driving relatively easy or are there lots of winding steep roads which I don't want. Thank you.

Lots of winding steep roads with fast motorcycles and slow camper vans. But maybe if you choose routes carefully those can be avoided.

Wanting to tour the Alps by car which is the largest mountain range in Europe without taking winding and steep roads is like wanting to go into the desert without seeing any sand.
Since the terrain has no intention of disappearing for you, I think it is best if you refrain from driving, or stay on the highways while looking at the landscape from afar.
