We are taking a family heritage drive from St Avold through some small villages south of St Avold. Vahl Ebersing, Lanning, and other small villages in this area. Then planning on driving to Colmar but do not want to drive Back to St Avold and take main highway. We would prefer to take back roads to Colmar and wonder If anyone knows of spots of interest in this part of France?
I know from just a little research there does not seem like a lot of places to visit but thought some of you may know of some spots.

Nancy isn't a million miles away, interesting glass heritage; I have found driving over the Vosges mountains isn't for me - far too slow - unless going to a particular place.
Personally, for back roads, I prefer the Schwarzwald over the border in Germany.
The Route des Vins around Colmar is well worth the effort - and that from somebody who doesn't drink...
