Driving from Nimes to Dorgogne then Nantes

Hello all, I would love a critique of my driving plan. We are leaving from Nimes and will rendez-vous with some friends near Bergerac in late May. Our plan is to avoid major highways as much as possible.

Sunday: Aveyron area: visit and/or sleep in La Couvertoirade, Belcastel, Peyrousse-le-Roc, Capdenac or Figac.
Monday: Visit les grottes de Cougnac and arrive in Sarlat earlyish, spend the night in Sarlat
Tues: Sarlat to Bergerac. We will stay with friends 2 or 3 days in this area and continue on towards
Final day: driving to from Bergerac to Nantes, with a lunch stop in La Rochelle.

I would appreciate any advice you have to offer, especially about the towns in the Aveyron area and where to sleep in Sarlat with a car.

Most accommodations that Rick's guidebook lists in Sarlat indicate a daily parking charge, none say free parking, and those that don't mention it probably leaving parking up to chance. La Maison du Notaire Royal (www.toulemon.com) only charges €1/day for parking.
