Driving from Nice to Annecy

Hello everyone. We are planning to travel in October to Nice and are considering driving from Nice to Annecy. Can anyone tell me if this is an easy trip to make by car in terms of roads, gas station availability, weather, etc.

Is there any reason this would not be a good idea, or is it totally fine? We’ve driven in France before, but not in that region. Thanks in advance for your insights.

Go to the website viamichelin.com. Put in your beginning and ending for route options. Pay attention to the icons (e.g. a car). Also pay attention to the names of places in the drop down boxes. Many places names are the same or very similar. Or buy a Michelin paper map for the areas to see the overall picture. I mark our routes on them and keep them as souvenirs of our trips.

As Judy wrote, there are multiple paths. The fastest take the toll autoroute. It can be a bit boring as it just a highway, populated with many rest stops and the link. There are other more scenic routes over the Alps to Grenoble, but I don't know what the weather will be like in October. There can be storms. (After you pass the mountains to Grenoble, all is flat and easy once again)>
