We are going to be traveling from Normandy to Dijon in September of 2016. I am intending to drive and am interested in the most scenic way to proceed. I would like to do it in 2 days.
We've done it dropping south toward the Loire, across from Tours to Bourges, to Montargis, to Auxerre in northern Burgundy. From there you can pick up the autoroute to Dijon. The two autoroute itineraries from Mont St. Michel go north almost to Paris and then dip south to Burgundy, via Auxerre. You want to avoid the autoroute or you'll be routed up almost to Paris. From Montargis you can go via Guedelon to see the castle work site.
Bets has a good plan. See what you can figure out from Via Michelin. We drove from Beaune to Caen in a long day using the A6 and the new A19. Very scenic except around Evreux. You could route yourselves through Chartres and near Orleans. Look on the map for green areas -- forests, natural preserves -- or just any route that avoids cities you don't want to visit. Many of the autoroutes away from Paris are very scenic and also very fast, though tolls can cost you. Taking two days for this trip is a great idea, look for an interesting place to stop overnight somewhere near the middle. We liked Bourges though it's a bit out of your way.
Thanks, I will check out the routes.
