Driving from CDG Paris to Reims - best route and towns to see along way?

I see three offered routes between CDG airport and Reims, our first night's stay on a 2 week tour of France > Switzerland and a little of Lake Como and Baden Baden. Which route from CDG to Reims has the best scenery and towns/villages to see? Thanks for any input!

When arriving jet-lagged off a trans-Atlantic flight, especially if you're coming from our west coast, I think you will want to get to Reims by the fastest route possible, or the most direct route without tolls. We don't have any favorite stops to recommend. www.viamichelin.com will suggest a "discovery" route option and calculate tolls. Epernay is the home of Moet et Chandon, if you're ready for your first tour and tasting (closed at lunch time).

Forget 'offered routes' ever what they are.

Get off the A4 at Chateau Thierry and follow the small roads along the south side of the Marne to Epernay then cut back north. Dormans is a pretty good coffee stop and leg-stretcher village.

The problem is that it's going to add at least two hours to a simple hour and a half trip.

If you want the fastest way, cutting up through Saint-Soupplets and then over to the A4 will have the least traffic.

Thank you!!! We will hope to take the slow road, but will be appreciative of the fast route if we are feeling jet-lagged. I appreciate the input so much - And it was exactly what type of scenic route I was hoping we could learn about. Merci beaucoup!!
