Driving from Amsterdam Airport to Dieppe, France

I will be flying into Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on a weekday in September, renting a car, and driving to Dieppe, France. The flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:30AM. I'm estimating that by the time I get through customs and to the rental car, it will be around noon. Google Maps shows the drive from there to Dieppe to be anywhere from 5-6 hours.

My question here is, there appear to be two ways of driving from Schiphol to Antwerp, one via A2 & A16, and the other via A4, A15, A29 (goes by The Hague).

Is anyone familiar with these alternatives, and if so, is one better than the other, esp. taking into account that this will be around noon or so on a weekday? Given the long drive, I'm trying to minimize congestion and distance.

Thanks!

I agree with OP. Jet lag is different with everyone and I would drive considering getting confused, lost, sleepy, etc. do you have a IDP and does car rental allow you to drive out of country? You will be looking at large fee for drop off in another country. Read your contract with a fine tooth comb.

Thanks for your replies. I am aware of the jet lag factor and being able to drive by train. If necessary, we will stop multiple times and get to our destination late. Our Hertz rental car will be able to cross national boundaries w/o a problem, and we're returning it to Amsterdam, where we are picking it up.

Keep in mind that if you have a normal response to jet lag you reaction times will be very close to that of a drunk driver especially if driving for six hours or more. This represents a high degree of stupidity.
