Driving Along the French Coast. What are the Best Stops & Private Camping Cabins-Pornic to Bayonne

Hi Everyone,
We are planning to fly into Nantes or Bordeaux, pick up a car and take time along the French coast.
I have reviewed some towns along that coast that look very nice... some look sort of like smaller versions of Honfleur.
Can you recommend some overnight stops that include nice beaches, great food and a comfortable environment.

Pornic, Saint Martin de Re, La Rochelle and Lege Cap Ferret look very nice, but I would like to hear your opinions.

I see there is also very nice private 'camping' possibilities that include great kids pools and nice accommodations. If you have any info on those types of overnight stays vs. hotels that would be great too !

Thank you!

Pornic looks really cute but there are almost no beaches. I liked my stay a bit more north in La Baule-Escoublac with plenty of beaches, west of Saint-Nazaire. There are a few campingsites with swimming pools, however a few close to the coast.

The town of Bidart, just south of Bayonne and right on the coast, has great beaches and there are camp sites in the area. There are also reasonably priced hotels, much less expensive than in Bayonne. Google Bidart Tourism for details.
