We are looking for a private driver to transfer from Dijon to Paris on May 2.
Our preference would be to take the TGV train but train station in Paris Gare de Lyon is closed for 4 days of maintenance. Slower trains to different stations are available but would get us into Paris too late for what we want to do.
Any recommendations? Thank you in advance!
How early do you need to be in Paris. The 5:34 am departure arrives into Paris Austerlitz Station at 8:38 am.
A private transfer from Dijon to Paris is likely to be expensive (at least €500).
According to the SNCF press release regarding the works causing the closure of Gare de Lyon:
"To maintain passenger mobility, SNCF has implemented an alternative transport plan to ensure approximately 60% of the usual service. TGV trains will be exceptionally rerouted to other stations in the Île-de-France region.
If you are traveling that weekend, your train will depart from or arrive at one of the following stations:
Paris Montparnasse - Paris Gare de l’Est - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport - Paris Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy
looks like the alternative services aren't published yet. I'd just wait a bt. May is still far away.
A shuttle or car will cost an absolutely fortune. You might want to check Flixbus.
Take the train to Marne-la-vallée and then the RER into central Paris, if seats are left. That station will be in high demand.
