Driver ffor French Riveria

In October, our cruise ship docks for a day in Monaco, and my party of four, including myself, would like to hire a driver to maximize our short visit.

Does anyone have any thoughts about either how to find one a driver, as I've looked in Rick Steves online guide books, or if they have one they can recommend?

Thanks!

I would suggest looking at the Ports of Call forum on Cruise Critic, as well as the Roll Call for your cruise, also on Cruise Critic.

Hi Don, welcome to the Forums

are you sure you actually dock in Monaco - many of the middle and larger ships dock off Villefranche sur Mer and tender in there, although calling it either Monaco or Nice.

Some smaller boats do dock at Monaco - it is best to be sure. Wouldn't want to have a driver waiting for you where you're not.

We just got back from the Riveria and found it very easy to use Uber. Just make sure you are on a major road and not inside one of the old cities. We took the train from Villefrenche sur mer to Menton, but had to wait to cram into the second train because the first one was full of people going to Monaco. The train pretty much emptied out after that stop. Then we took an Uber from Menton to Eze the Village so we wouldn’t have to walk up the hill or take the bus from the train station. Then Uber back to VF. It was very easy. Then you’re not paying for a driver’s time while you are exploring.
