Hi we are driving from cochem to Strasbourg about 3.5 hours with a two year old. What’s a good town to stop along the way for a stretch, walk around and lunch ?

Maybe Bingen, slight detour, pleasantly located on the Rhine - assuming you take the easterly route via A61 and A65 autobahns, which is cheapest, and probably fastest.
But otherwise, it's a fairly quick drive... I would do it in one go with a simple autobahn rest stop break.

In my experience any nice stop is 15-20 minutes off the highway and then back, with possible parking and walking to sights to add. Are you ready to visit a place for roughly two hours to make it worth it?
