We are planning on driving from Normandy (Bayeux) to CDG to catch a 5:00pm flight. We are concerned about the traffic around Paris on A86 and A1 to the airport. If we leave Bayeux at 9:00am will it be enough time to reach CDG by 3:30pm? The other option would be to drop off the rental car in Caen and train to Paris, Gare Saint-Lazare and taxi to CDG. We are looking for the least stressful option. Thanks in advance for your help.
You should have plenty of time to get to CDG. It would take longer to take a train and taxi as the taxi would be driving just like you would be. Just allow plenty of time to be there by about 2:30. You need more time than you think to go thru passport control. Go to http://www.viamichelin.com/ It's easy to put in your route and print out directions. Directions are too detailed but assume your partner can help. It says it should take only 3hrs so even if there is slow traffic you should be fine.
