Dordogne

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Restaurant Les Vieilles Tours near Rocamadour? Or does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel in this area?

Also, has anyone stayed at Le Manoir de la Gravette in Montauban?

And, a few months ago someone posted about standing stones in Dordogne that rival Stonehenge. Does anyone have any information about them?? Location??

Many Thanks.

Have not stayed in Rocamadour, but we spent 3 nights in Sarlat-La-Caneda in May and stayed at the Hotel de la Madeline, which was very nice and worthy of recommendation. We arrived on a Friday night and therefore were able to take in the Saturday market, which extends literally to the front of the hotel. It was a delight. Lots of food of all types and many merchant stands for browsing and possible buying. Don't know about the standing stones. We signed up for a day-tour of two of the historic caves and side trips to two small villages and would definitely recommend doing that as well.

Glad to hear about the Hotel Madeleine, as I will be there for four nights in October. Did you need parking, and if so, was it reasonably convenient?
