Domaine de Bayeux or Hotel de Brunville ?

Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels in Bayeux? Domaine came recommended by a friend, but the only room they have available is an attic room.

In spring of 2017 fve of us stayed at Hotel de Brunville. It was not listed as a spa then, but had Cafe Louis in the title. We had two wonderful rooms at a reasonable price, even back then. I would recommend it highly. They breakfast was delicious and well worth the price, and we had dinner in the restaurant, Cafe Louis, which was upscale but well-priced also. In looking at Booking.com, I see that the spa element is quite pronounced, but I can't comment on that. We were happy with it, and were able to find parking very close by. It was an easy walk to see the tapestry and see the town. Based on my (old) experience and what I see on Booking.com, I would return.

Thank you. We will be visiting the Loire Valley on this trip. As a first time visitor, can you recommend to stay in Amboise or Chinon area? I would say our interest in seeing one chateaux a day, more interested in some outdoor nature activities.
I did book Hotel De Brunville

When we went from Bretagne to the Loire Valley on that same 2017 trip, we stayed the first night in Saumur, as we left the Carnac area in the later morning and didn't plan on seeing anything that day. Saumur was nice, but we didn't do much sightseeing there. I understand therer are mushroom"caves" to visit, and we did some wine tasting in the town. Next day we left to see two chateaux, Chenonceaux in the morning, picnicking for lunch there, then driving to Chambord for the afternoon. We stayed that second night at a bed and breakfast in Thoury, near Chambord, called L"Oiseau de Paradis" It was great! Comfortable, good ambience, lovely hosts, great breakfast, and peaceful and relaxing. We had a lovely dinner there as well. You might check them out at [email protected]. It works for the eastern part of the valley.
