I am just trying to find out whether the Pantheon still has a mandatory mask requirement. I saw on its website that it does. I was just wondering whether the website is showing old information that has not been corrected or whether it in fact still has such a policy. If it does, do any other major traveler sites in Paris require a mask?
Are you seeing that at the official site for the Pantheon? My understanding is that in France, currently, mask-wearing is no longer mandatory in establishments open to the public. i was last in Paris in October and November 2023 and masks were not required anywhere.
Old info. No mask requirement. Visited in 2022.
Can you please share the link to where you read this? Are you sure you’re on the official website of the Pantheon?
Thanks to all. I have to believe that the website has just not updated its information.
But yes, when you go to buy tickets on the museum website, you go to this page, tickets.monuments-nationalaux.fr/en-GB/products. Under "Practical Informations," it reads: "For your safety as well as that of our agents, wearing a mandatory during your visit."
Try tickets.monuments-nationalaux.fr/en-families?site=2007056652440400272.
If this doesn't work, just go to the general website for the Pantheon and try to buy a ticket. But again, I am sure this is no mask requirement and the information has not been corrected, though it does say "wearing a mandatory mask."
I was there a year ago and there was no line for tickets (it was raining so maybe that kept folks away) AND I don't remember a mask mandate. In fact, I remember how practically no one wore a mask in Paris, not even at CDG or on the train in to town.
Was in Paris earlier this year (March) and went to the Pantheon as part of the visit and did not see masks.
Enjoy!
I was in Paris in May, and every day on the subway I saw people wearing mask.
I also saw people wearing mask in museums and at a flea market. I’m not sure why some of you never see anybody. As a matter fact, I saw someone today at my local grocery store wearing a mask.
I was in Paris for a month last fall and did not see anyone wearing a mask but I never rode the metro or took a bus. Maybe it was the luck of the draw. I see people here in Florida wearing masks almost every time I go my local grocery store.
Carol, I think perhaps why we didn't see anyone wearing a mask was that we happened to arrive on a very warm spring day mid April. Our hotel host said it was by far the best weather day they'd seen in many months...so all I saw were very happy Parisiens out enjoying the sunshine. In fact weeks later when we were on a Rick Steves tour in Belgium/Netherlands, I mentioned that the air conditioner on the 5th floor at the d'Orsay couldn't keep up; others who had been in Paris but with less desireable weather couldn't fathom that we were overheated.
Anyway, I think everyone was taking in all that fresh spring air when we were there. Definitely didn't see anyone wearing a mask anywhere while we were there.
