Does it make sense to go to Sainte Chappelle and the Conciergerie on different days?

We're traveling in June, and our hotel is a 10-minute walk from Sainte Chappelle. I'd thought we might try to do our timed-entry at Sainte Chappelle first thing (9:00) and then the Conciergerie the following day at their opening time of 9:30. I realize there is a joint ticket available, but we plan to have the Paris Museum Pass for me and my husband, and our 16-year-old will be free.

The question is, does this make sense to do, or is there joint security, so that once you've gone through for one you should just stay for the other?

I agree with Kathy and will add that I've never even stood in line at the Conciergerie so I would not worry about trying to get there at opening time. It will not take as long as Sainte-Chapelle either because the thing that take the longest at Sainte-Chapelle is going thru Security which is for both the chapel and the Hall of Justice (the courts).

megg99, I hope you don't mind me asking a related question on your thread.

I am planning to go to Sainte-Chappelle and the Conciergerie on the same day in May. My plan was to buy a combo ticket with a time slot for Sainte-Chappelle. However, the official website is releasing tickets about one week ahead. I emailed them to ask why no May tickets were available and there reply was to book at one week.

Of course, the planner in me doesn't want to wait that long. I have noticed that other websites are offering the tickets now.
Does anyone have advice about purchasing the combo ticket on an "unofficial" website?

The Paris Tourist Office Official Website is selling them for a 0.5 Euro fee.

Thanks to you both--good to know there's not usually a wait at the Conciergerie. I'll noodle with our plan; definitely seems more efficient to do both the same morning--now I see the website says they're 100m apart.

It seems that 1 hour is about right to allow for Sainte Chappelle? We are history lovers and I'll bet our son will enjoy the "histopad" at the Conciergerie. Any thoughts about how much time to allow there?

I'd do them the same day as they are right next to each other. We also plan on doing 9am Sainte-Chapelle, but I have no clue what time ticket to book at the Conciergerie as I don't know how long Chapelle will take.
