Before I launch into deep research to find one of these I wonder if this hotel style is even available in France. I'm considering Rick Steves' Paris tour right before Christmas (I know, a long time from now!) then extending my stay for a few days in a country house hotel over the Christmas holiday. If these types of hotels are out there, does anyone know of a good resource that lists them? I searched this forum but didn't come up with much. Thanks! Ann.

Some chateaux/castles are scattered among the listings, but not necessarily Great Houses as you find in England-- at least as they show on PBS specials.
